After many years working for architecture firms in New York City and Providence, Kelly Taylor founded KTID in 2004, eager to elevate the public perception of interior design by providing clients with architectural design and sustainability solutions in addition to decor.
Raised in Charleston, SC and schooled at Parson’s School of Design in New York, Kelly brings an appreciation of both historic and modern architecture to her work, which has been equally divided between new construction and adaptive reuse, residential and commercial design.
In 2012, she was honored with New England Home magazine’s “5 Under 40” Award, an honor which “spotlights the hottest emerging talent in residential design in New England.” Named a 2016 “Woman to Watch in Creative Services” by Providence Business News, Taylor encourages design that is functional, sustainable and high quality. Her diverse portfolio illustrates her ability to create truly collaborative relationships with her clients, interpreting their needs and transforming their visions into cohesive, functional and beautiful interiors.
Kelly received her Interior Design degree from Parson’s School of Design in New York City and her Master of Design Studies in Sustainable Design from the Boston Architectural College. She holds a certification in interior design from the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ), is LEED accredited and is a professional member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA).
At KTID, Kendra shines her positivity, creativity, dedication and tireless work ethic on many of our projects, from our commercial work to multiple private residences. Prior to joining us, Kendra spent several years with the hospitality design firm, DeLeonardo International, working on hotel projects around the globe. She received her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the New England Institute of Technology and is currently working toward her NCIDQ certification. In her down time, Kendra enjoys spending time with her husband, Omar, their son, Mikko and their lovable pitbull, Frisco.
Evan joined KTID in the fall of 2017 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Wentworth Institute of Technology, where he was the liaison to the Student Association of Interior Designers (SAID). He has quickly become involved in the RI design community, swiftly entering and graduating from the Design Forward RI Emerge Program and volunteering countless hours to promoting design. While not at KTID, you can find Evan traveling, shopping for vintage Hermes, scoping out the best new restaurants, and having a cocktail with his partner, Demetri and their little Boston Terrier, Phimmy.
Jackson joined the office at 8 weeks old in March of 2014. He is a sweet, friendly, super social dog that generally sleeps all day with pauses to grab some attention from one of us. Whether client, Fedex driver, colleague or sales rep., Jackson is sure anyone who comes to the office has come just to see him.

WHAT WE DO:
At KTID, we create interior space, from whole-scale gut renovations and additions to furniture planning and design. We pride ourselves on listening carefully to our clients’ needs and desires and delivering thoughtful, innovative responses to better their every day lives. Since we spend 90% of our time indoors, KTID considers not only indoor air quality, but indoor environmental quality—acoustics, daylighting, thermal comfort—during our design process. We understand the power of a successful interior to impact learning, working, health and happiness.
KTID is dedicated to collaboration in all of our projects, and believes a successful design is the result of integrated and collaborative teamwork. Our approach brings client, architect, builder, designer and consultants together at the start to ensure cohesive and coordinated results. Our commitment to listening defines our relationships with our clients, carefully mapping ideas, schedules and budgets to ensure a smooth design and construction process.
Our work has been featured in such magazines as Metropolis, Boston Globe Magazine, New England Home, Rhode Island Monthly and Design New England. Kelly Taylor is the 2012 recipient of New England Home magazine’s “5 Under 40 Award” for excellence in design and the 2016 recipient of the “Woman to Watch in Creative Services” Award from the Providence Business News. KTID is the recipient of multiple design awards from Rhode Island Monthly magazine.
